Description
Meena, a Taruni Sakhi (community volunteer), calls the Taruni Helpline after counseling Leela, a mother of three children, at her home in in Badundia Village, Bagdunda Cluster, Udaipur. Action Research and Training for Health (ARTH) has run the Taruni Helpline since 2015. It is available between 9:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. and connects callers to a team of trained social workers, who provide counseling on reproductive health issues, including information to help determine suitable contraceptives as preferable. If a caller requires a clinical procedure, the counselor can refer them to a hospital or ARTH clinic as appropriate.
